Terms of Service

Version 2026-09-05

1. Who these terms are between

Promos is operated by Hazelfin GmbH, Oberdorf 4, 37136 Landolfshausen, Germany ("we", "us"). Full details are in the Legal Notice. These terms govern your use of the service, whether you hold an account or simply claim a code.

The service is aimed at businesses, developers and other traders distributing codes for their own products. If you are a consumer, you may still use it, and nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you — section 8 sets out your right of withdrawal, and where any clause here conflicts with a mandatory consumer right, that right prevails. Your own terms and conditions do not apply to this contract unless we agree to them in writing.

2. What the service does

You create a project, upload a list of codes, and get an unlisted link. People who open that link enter an email address, confirm it, and each receives exactly one code. Your inventory is never published, and the service hands out each code at most once and gives each confirmed address at most one code per project.

Codes are opaque text to us. We do not check, validate, activate, redeem or renew them, and we have no relationship with the store or platform that issued them. If a code is wrong, already used, expired at the issuer, or rejected on redemption, that is a matter between you and your claimers. A code that has been handed to a claimer is used up as far as the service is concerned, whether or not it worked.

3. Accounts

An account needs a working email address and nothing else. There is no password: anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure and tell us at once if you believe someone else has access. You are responsible for everything done through your account.

Accounts are for the person or company that opened them. You must be legally able to enter into a contract, and you must give correct details.

4. Your codes and your responsibility for them

By uploading codes you confirm that:

  • you own the codes or are authorised to distribute them, and doing so breaks no agreement with the platform that issued them;
  • the codes are valid for the use you advertise, and the project name and description describe honestly what a claimer will get;
  • distributing them breaks no law, and the project does not offer anything unlawful, deceptive, or subject to an age or licensing restriction you have not handled yourself;
  • you will not upload anything but codes — the field is not a channel for personal data, credentials, or messages to third parties.

Codes are uploaded with a lifetime, 365 days at most, and are removed from inventory once it passes. Watching your own codes' expiry is your job, not ours. Capacity used by expired codes is not refunded or restored.

5. Claimer email addresses

A claimer gives their address for two reasons: to receive a code, and because you asked for it. Both are legitimate. Having a way to reach the people using your codes is part of what this service is for, and nothing here forbids it. What the law asks is that a claimer can see what they are handing it over for before they hand it over.

Once an address reaches you, you are an independent controller for it under data protection law. That means:

  • Say what you will use it for in the project description. The description sits directly above the claim form, so it is where a claimer can read it before deciding. If you intend to ask for feedback, announce a release, or keep the address on a list, that belongs there rather than being discovered afterwards.
  • Obtain consent where the law asks for it. Disclosing a purpose is not the same as having consent for it. In the EU, advertising email needs the recipient's consent, and asking your own users for feedback counts as advertising more often than people expect. Which of your uses need consent is your call to make, not ours.
  • Do not sell the addresses or pass them to a third party, and do not use them for something unconnected to the project they were given to.
  • Answer claimers' data protection requests yourself. Access, correction and deletion have to come from you, because we cannot reach your copy.
  • Keep your own privacy notice accurate about what you do with them.

With auto-prune enabled, we delete the address on our side 7 days after a code was assigned and keep only a keyed identifier that prevents a second claim. Turning auto-prune off is your decision and your responsibility. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

6. What you may not do

  • collect addresses for a purpose you did not disclose on the project page, or send claimers email unconnected to the project they claimed from;
  • distribute malware, phishing links, or anything that misrepresents who you are;
  • attempt to obtain codes you were not handed, to claim more than one code per person, or to circumvent the confirmation or abuse protection;
  • probe, load-test, scrape or otherwise interfere with the service or the infrastructure it runs on;
  • resell or sublicense access to the service itself.

7. Capacity, prices and payment

You can try the service without paying: a new account may create up to three projects, each holding up to 300 codes that are not yet activated. Beyond that, codes are activated by buying capacity in bundles of 100 for a single project, up to 10 bundles per purchase.

The price and any applicable VAT are shown at checkout before you pay, and that is the price that applies. Payment is handled by Stripe; your contract for the capacity itself is with us. Presenting the service on this site is an invitation to buy — the contract comes into being when we confirm your purchase after Stripe reports it as paid.

Capacity does not expire. It is tied to the project it was bought for and cannot be moved to another project. What you buy is the bundle, not the codes actually claimed from it: if you buy 100 and 68 are handed out, the remaining 32 stay available to you for as long as the project exists, but they are not money we owe you back. Capacity you never use is not refunded, in whole or in part, including when you pause, archive or delete the project or delete your account, and the service says so before it lets you throw paid capacity away. This does not affect the withdrawal right in section 8 or any statutory claim for defects.

8. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. The period begins on the day the contract is concluded. To withdraw, tell us clearly — an email to support@hazelfin.com is enough. Sending the notice before the period ends is sufficient. We will refund all payments received, using the same means of payment you used, within 14 days of receiving your notice.

The right expires early once delivery has begun. Capacity is digital content supplied immediately: it is credited to your project the moment the payment is confirmed, before the 14 days are up. At checkout you are asked to agree that we begin supplying it at once, and to acknowledge that by doing so you lose your right of withdrawal under § 356 (5) BGB. Without that agreement, we cannot supply the capacity until the 14 days have passed.

9. Availability

We run the service with reasonable care but do not promise a particular level of availability, and there is no agreed uptime. It may be unavailable for maintenance, because of a fault, or because a provider we depend on has an outage. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice, let you export your data, and refund capacity you have paid for and not yet used.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop at any time: pause or delete a project, or delete your account from the account page. Deletion removes your projects, codes and claims as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend a project or an account where we have reasonable grounds to believe these terms are being broken, where a project is unlawful or abusive, or where a payment for it is reversed or charged back. We will tell you why and, where the problem can be fixed, give you the chance to fix it. Either side may terminate for good cause. Nothing here limits our right to comply with a legal obligation.

11. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and to the extent we have given a guarantee.

For slight negligence we are liable only where we breach a material contractual obligation — an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely. In that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Any further liability for slight negligence is excluded.

In particular, we are not liable for the validity or redeemability of your codes, for what a project owner does with claimer addresses, or for loss caused by your failure to keep your own copy of codes you uploaded. Keep your own records; the CSV export is there for that.

12. Indemnity

If a third party brings a claim against us because of a project you ran, the codes you distributed, or your handling of claimer data, you will indemnify us against that claim and the reasonable cost of defending it, unless you are not responsible for the breach. This does not apply to consumers beyond what the law allows.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms where there is a valid reason, such as a change to the service, to our providers, or to the law. We will give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email before a change takes effect. If you object within that period, either side may terminate the contract; unused capacity is refunded in that case. Continuing to use the service after the notice period counts as acceptance, and we will say so in the notice. Each version carries a date, and the one you accepted is recorded with your account.

14. Law and venue

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence.

If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes is our registered seat. We are not willing or obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

15. Remainder

If a provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the rest stays in force. Questions go to support@hazelfin.com.
